About Bank

The District Central Co-Operative Bank Ltd.,Bidar was established in the year 1922 under the Hyderabad Co-Operative Societies Act with Registration No.20944 dated 13-08-1922 with an objective to provide short term and medium term loans for agricultural purposes. The area of operation of the bank is extended to the whole Bidar District. After realignment of (5) taluka viz. Bidar, Aurad, Bhalki, Humnabad and Basavakalyan. Bidar District population stood of 15.00 lakhs covering 622 revenue villages and 300 wadi thandas in the entire district.

​                After re-organization of states the bank opened its first branch at Basavakalyan and then at Aurad and Humnabad. The activities of the bank has gradually increased. Now the bank is having (45) branches covering all the revenue circles.

The Reserve Bank of India granted license No.RPCD BG 83-C dated 15 July 1998 to the bank.

The bank has started functioning with a initial Share Capital of Rs.1671/- and thereafter it has developed gradually. The bank has grown rapidally in the last 4 decades.

The Board of Management has decided to bring out a monthly magazine called "Bidar Sahakar" for the benifit of farmers in the district. The aim of this magazine is to provide education to the farmers in agricultural, marketing, technology, scientifical management and other important aspects related to agriculture. The magazine is being published since 1997 with a circulation of 1000 copies.
